Garden Edibles for Eating & Drinking
Posted on Monday, May 7th, 2012
Our organic garden of veggies, herbs and edible flowers is having its’ one year birthday. It’s very exciting to see our plants return for a new season, and find some things starting to bloom. The blue borage flowers will be floating in some cocktails soon.
I planted a package of the orange calendula flower seeds last year, and am thrilled to see some of the original plants in flower already, as well as see their seedlings sprouting up.
This chocolate mint is delicious in infused syrups.
Fortunately, I like lemon balm. This plant is growing like crazy.
The bronze fennel will be delicious and attractive as cocktail garnishes, as well as additions to salad.
And I killed another rosemary plant. Oh well. A replacement is planted all ready in the sunniest spot I could find. I remain optimistic that this is the year I don’t kill another rosemary. I really do love that herb.
