My Kitchen Counter

Posted on Monday, June 25th, 2012

Recently, my friend Julie, with the major photography skills, was standing in my kitchen, and captured this photo. She saw a great shot, and I saw my regular kitchen counter. I live with some home bar fixings close at hand – bar spoons, cocktail garnish picks and a bouquet of fresh herbs. I’ve gotten in the habit of cutting a few extra sprigs of an herb when I go out to the garden. The extras make a handsome bouquet, and I have found I use the herbs more frequently when they are only a reach away.

Please visit Julie’s blog at PhotoMura Images to see her photo essay of our creative day together. Her photos are wonderful!

Thanks for the mention Beth! You take 100% credit for the photo styling though, which is a major part of any photograph. I just showed up and snapped the shutter…

When I try to style a shot on purpose, it can be a tricky process. Decorating my home comes easy. Maybe I will just pretend from now on that I am decorating instead of styling those photo shots.
