Whiskey Bing Bing -

Bing cherries are one of my favorite fruits, so I decided to create a cocktail to showcase them. I wanted to keep it simple, without too many flavor components. I was in the mood for a nice whiskey, and reached for Fremont Mischief’s – made from organic ingredients. Of course, there had to be lime and some cherry bitters. A little shot of simple syrup, and I had magic in a glass!
Here’s the cocktail recipe for:
Whiskey Bing Bing
- 2 1/2 ounces whiskey
- 3 or 4 bing cherries, cut in half and pitted
- 1/2 ounce turbinado simple syrup
- 1/2 – 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 dashes of cherry bitters (or Angostura or Peychaud’s or your favorite)
- garnish with one whole bing cherry
Mash the cherries and whiskey together in the bottom of your glass. Add the simple syrup, lime juice, and some ice cubes. Stir. Float the bitters on top, and garnish with a whole bing cherry.

Really nice photo and good use of a short depth of field. Now I’m thirsty!
Thanks for your kind words about the photo. When I’m having trouble getting the focus the way I want, I get very tempted to drink my photo subject. When I finally get an okay shot, the drinks never go to waste!
