I made some magnificent martinis over the holidays. It couldn’t have been any easier. The top notch ingredients did all of the heavy lifting – Hendricks Gin, Imbue’s Bittersweet Vermouth, and my herbal Tipsy Olives. Feel free to play around with the proportion of gin to vermouth. This proportion was a crowd pleaser:
Mama Beth’s Martini
- 2 1/2 ounces gin
- 1/2 ounce vermouth
Shake with ice until really, truly icy cold. Strain into a pretty glass. Add a tipsy olive.
I’ll be sharing my martini making skills, recipes and gartending (gardening + bartending) techniques at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show on February 24, 2013 at 3:15. It is a terrific show, and arrives when we are feeling itchy to be outside in our gardens again.
If you can’t make that date, I’ll be speaking at Molbak’s in Woodinville on March 16 at Noon on this Garden to Glass theme. It’s a free event, and will be a fun time.
