Hot Toddy for a Sore Throat

Posted on Wednesday, January 16th, 2013

My Pinterest addiction is still in full force. Besides all the pretty pictures entertaining me, I’ve discovered some great new recipes, and picked up some darn handy tips. Like this natural remedy for a sore throat and cough. It’s a surprisingly tasty concoction. To tame all of the cayenne in it, I decided to transform it into a hot toddy. I figured everyone likes a hot drink this time of year. And while we’re at it – lets add a splash of brandy for medicinal purposes!

Hot Toddy for a Sore Throat

  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne

Mix well, and add a spoonful to a cup of hot water. Add a splash of brandy or whatever your favorite liquor is and on hand. It’s a lot of cayenne, so I would suggest going easy on it when you make your first batch.
