Snohomish on the Rocks Distillery Festival

Our weekend fun began attending Snohomish on the Rocks Distillery Festival, a modest drive outside of Seattle. We had two envelopes full of tickets for tastings, cocktails and food items. Of course, we started with some tastings. We had the best time trying broVo spirits‘ new line of Amaros. Being a huge fan of Amaros, it was a bunch of fun to sample five different combos. Each shares a rhubarb liqueur base, which has barrel aged for three months.  A group of Seattle bartenders were asked to create unique herb and spice mixes for seven individual Amaros. I enjoyed each sample, but both Raoul and I ranked Amaro 04 as our favorite.

Erin, a co-owner of broVo, generously shared a ton of information about her terrific Amaros. I decided to not jump into further research of trying broVo’s delicious herbal liqueurs. It’s so sad that my taste buds can’t hold their liquor as long as I wish they could.

Another highlight of Snohomish on the Rocks was a stop at the Heritage Distilling Company‘s table. They are offering a couple of intriguing ideas for creating your own customized liquor at their distillery, with their guidance, through their My Batch and Cask Club programs.
