Delicious Way to Use Amaro

Making my own amaro liqueur each season, from what is available in our cocktail garden, has produced some remarkable results. Besides enjoying glasses of these bitter and herbal liqueurs on their own, I am using them as ingredients in cocktails. This Amaroni is a variation of a Negroni, a classic cocktail, which is equal parts Campari, gin and sweet vermouth. My Summer Amaro replaced the Campari. Here is another Amarino version, using my Spring Amaro. So easy to make, and even easier to drink!
- 1 ounce gin
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth (I’m currently loving Bonal Gentiane – Quina for this component)
- 1 ounce handmade amaro
Mix and serve with ice cubes. Garnish with an orange peel twist or slice.
