Lighter and brighter cocktails for spring are being created around here lately. My Spring in a Glass, Cocktails for Sunday Brunch seminar on March 29 at 11 a.m. at Molbak’s Garden + Home is fast approaching. I’ve been having some tasty fun playing around with beer cocktails, and some variations on a shandy. A shandy is beer mixed with a soft drink, lemonade, ginger beer, or a variety of other mixers. This Ginger Shandy couldn’t be much easier – a nice bottle of beer mixed with a nice bottle of non-alcoholic ginger beer. A squeeze of lime, and you’re done. This gorgeous bottle of Elysian Avatar Jasmine IPA, brewed with jasmine flowers, jumped into my hands at the grocery store. Jasmine + ginger + lime + bubbles were made for lighter daytime drinking, especially a Sunday brunch.
- 1 bottle good quality beer, chilled
- 1 bottle ginger beer, chilled
- big squeeze of fresh lime juice
Divide between two glasses, mixing equal parts of each together. Serves two.
