Irish Whiskey Sour

This Irish Whiskey Sour cocktail recipe is a gem for entertaining. You can mix up a big pitcher of them right before your guests arrive. Pour them one at a time into ice-filled glasses, add a few drops of lime bitters to each, and garnish with a lemon slice. They aren’t a classic sour, because I didn’t want to fuss with shaking egg whites, which is a traditional ingredient in a whiskey sour. Our St. Patrick’s Day party guests certainly didn’t mind.

Irish Whiskey Sour

  • 2 ounces Irish Whiskey
  • 1/2 ounce grapefruit jelly
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 ounces orange juice
  • 4 – 5 drops lime bitters
  • lemon slice for a garnish

Mix well the whiskey, jelly, lemon and orange juices in your serving container. This recipe can easily be increased. I multiplied this recipe for eight servings. Pour 4-5 ounce servings into individual ice-filled glasses, add 4 – 5 drops of lime bitters, and a lemon slice for a garnish.
