Anxiety Relief in a Jar

Anxiety relief in a jar – fresh lemon balm infused in water. So simple. So effective. And so enjoyable to drink. I’m always looking for ways to tame my anxiety. I’ve had it for my whole life, and seem to be struggling with managing my anxiety more lately. I’ve tried a couple of traditional prescriptions, and strongly disliked how I felt while taking them. Now I have embraced herbal medicine, and have found a big plant ally in lemon balm. I pack a quart glass jar with fresh lemon balm, cover it with filtered water, and let it sit on the kitchen counter for the day, and spend the night in the fridge. 24 hours later, it’s ready. I am very partial to the cold infusion. I’ve tried lemon balm in hot tea, and in sun tea, and though the flavor is still good, I’ll stick with the cold infusion as my top choice.
I’m in big squirrel mode these days, gathering, harvesting, and preserving as much of our garden’s bounty before the upcoming colder weather turns so much of our garden of edibles to mush. Fortunately, lemon balm dries easily, to get me through to next spring. In the meantime, before that first frost shows up, I’ll be extra grateful for these fresh lemon balm water infusions.
